i was thinking about buying a hod sword but my friend said not to because they might be bringing them back in factions, he said a collector or merchent said that they will be getting a new shipment of HoD swords. does anybody know if this is true?

Yes there is a Merchant (person) in the Factions preview event who said he made his fortune from selling HOD swords. He then asked if you need a sword. Although he did not offer the swords in the preview it is speculated that HODs will make a return.

There was an NPC in the factions preview whom brags about the money hes made from importing rare HoD Equipment from Tyria - he also goes on to say "would you like a sword ?" ... its more then specualtion.

Since Anet has said repeatedly that this is a game about skill, not grind, having items not available for all players seems antithetical to their mission.

In other words, I hope this rumor is true!

Cant you build a hod with the right sword and upgrades? and isnt there a green with the same stats? with that I'd say the sword is always available in some way or other! I could be wrong though sorry

Hopefuly will end up being true. Either totaly remove the item from the game, change it's stats to what it should be, or simply make it available to all.. *cough* 15% ffs, 20/20 rockmolder, HoD sword/axe... The list goes on.

Nope, the HoD sword has + 5 energy always, and wasn't linked to a mod, just part of the weapon. No others have had this mod, as far as I know.

Alright. Last time I made a post that dealt with the same EXACT topic, it was closed IMMEDIATELY.

By opening this post, you are asking people to speculate rumors. Truth is, nobody knows what is going to happen with Factions and posts like this obviously just spread more rumors.
